Biography: Markus Knoerzer is a Ph.D. Candidate in the School of Engineering at RMIT University. He received his M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology from Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences, Germany. Markus is a member of the Optical Society (OSA) and SPIE, and he is the president of the RMIT photonics society, a post graduate student group associated with the Optical Society (OSA). His research focuses on integrated photonic biosensors and how they can be improved using signal processing. Furthermore, Markus programmed most of the automation in the photonic lab.
